What is holistic psychiatry?  What is integrative psychiatry?
These two approaches to mental health treatment share similarities but also key differences.  They both share treatments which are considered natural or alternative compared to Western medicine.  The key difference is that integrative psychiatry uses evidence based treatments, whereas holistic psychiatry includes treatments which are difficult to research and therefore there isn’t much of an evidence base.  Integrative psychiatry also seeks to integrate natural treatments with Western medicine in a way that they can complement each other.

Integrative treatments that Dr. Yun will recommend include botanicals and supplements that have a strong evidence base and few side effects.  He also makes use of research that examines what part nutrition, diet, lifestyle, exercise, and spirituality have to play in mental health symptoms.
